SEC-SHJ – Sharjah Education

During the current health situation, the Sharjah Education Council is working hard to make education better in their area. They are using new ways of teaching so students can learn from home. They are also doing special programs and talks to help students become good citizens and learn important values.

For the summer holidays, they have planned fun and useful activities so students can enjoy their free time and learn something new at the same time. They want to help students become better at things they’re good at and give them cool experiences. The Sharjah Education Council is teaming up with experts to make all of this happen. Their goal is to make sure students have an excellent education and become helpful members of society.

About The Council

The establishment of the Sharjah Education Council stems from the insightful vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. / Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi – Member of the Supreme Council of the Union – Ruler of the Emirate of Sharjah, and his full belief in the importance of education, being the main pillar in comprehensive and sustainable development, and the main source for the launch of nations. This vision is nothing but an extension of a series of interests and unlimited support for His Highness in the field of education, whether at the local, regional or global level. Therefore, the Council has been keen, since its inception, to translate these visions, ambitions and aspirations into realistic, developmental and applicable goals to build a youth capable of giving and advancing the march progress in our beloved country.

Nurseries

Nurseries are getting ready to open again, and they’re doing some important things to keep everyone safe. Maryam Al Shamsi talked about these steps. The people in charge made a plan for nurseries to follow before they can open again. They got help from the Education Ministry, the Sharjah Municipality, and the Bee’ah Company to clean and disinfect all the nurseries.

There are 29 nurseries that the council is taking care of. They’re being very careful about how they do things. They are following health rules to make sure everyone stays healthy. Kids are coming to the nurseries in small groups, like teams. Each group has a maximum of 10 kids, and they stay with a teacher and an assistant. These groups don’t mix with other kids or grown-ups working there.

The nurseries are using special cameras to check the kids’ temperature. They also have machines to clean things well. If a kid or a grown-up feels sick, there are special rooms they can stay in to keep everyone safe. They’re also keeping track of what they do every day.

Comprehensive Development

During the time when people had to learn and work from home, the Sharjah Education Council did some really good things to help the teachers who work with young kids. They gave them a lot of training, like learning new things, for about 120 to 180 hours. They also did 40 workshops where they taught parents and kids interesting stuff in both Arabic and English.

They made videos that had nice messages for parents and kids. The people who take care of little kids in the Council’s nurseries also made special lessons and workshops. All of these were put together in a bag of educational stuff, and they gave it to many kids in the nurseries. The kids and their parents really liked it and said nice things about it.

The Council did some important things to help the people who take care of kids in nurseries. They also included parents in this. They had a workshop from the Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority to teach them how to take care of kids during the current health situation.

They also had special teachers come to talk about important things. The Council made a special place online called “Let us learn.” There were 58 links there with cool things for parents, teachers, and everyone who cares about kids.

They also worked with other groups to teach about staying safe and healthy. They had workshops about being careful and preventing problems for parents, teachers, and the people who watch over kids.

Workshops

Hoda Al Shehhi is a person who helps students have fun and learn cool things. She works with the Sharjah Education Council. When schools were closed and students had to learn from home, they started a special project called “Your Interest.”

The project was all about helping students have a good time after they finished their schoolwork at home. They did fun activities and competitions. They also had workshops where students could learn new things. For example, they had a workshop about making movies with a group called “Fann” that knows a lot about movies for kids. They also talked about how to spend free time in a good way.

They did some workshops on the computer too. They learned about old things like how people used to print things a long time ago and how they grew food in the past. They even had competitions in chess and soccer, and they talked about space and stars, which was really interesting.
